Welcome to Kholle House. Built in 1860 as a showcase for Princess Kholle's precious collectables, displaying her fine china, furniture and curios from around the world, and as an entertainment venue for her friends and distinguished guests.
After three years of restoration, you can experience a place of history and attention to detail. Kholle House has been carefully transformed into a boutique hotel in the heart of Stone Town. Each of the 9 rooms is uniquely designed with combinations of Swahili and Creole influences.
Kholle House is rich in history and colour - with turmeric coloured walls, stained glass windows, exotic woods, polished nutmeg coloured floors with the original marble slabs set into the floor, all reflecting the thousand shades of the shimmering spices of Zanzibar.
